Description

Warm & Natural Needled Cotton Batting

Warm & Natural is a premium needle-punched cotton batting trusted by quilters worldwide. Made in the USA with carefully selected American-grown cotton, it offers a soft, natural feel without the use of harsh chemical washing or bleaching.

A mechanical cleaning process removes seeds, seed coats, and most leaf and stem remnants. Small natural cotton particles may remain and are part of the batting’s authentic appearance. They will not harm your quilt.

Warm & Natural can be quilted or tied up to 10 inches apart and may be used directly from the package without pre-washing. Its stable construction resists shifting, bunching, separating, and bearding, making it suitable for hand quilting, machine quilting, and tied projects.

It also maintains its shape when hanging, hooping, or placed in a quilt frame. Beyond quilting, it can be used as an exterior fabric for crafts and soft sculpted projects.

Benefits

  • Made with premium American-grown cotton

  • Needle-punched for strength and stability

  • Contains no resins or glues

  • Will not separate, bunch, shift, migrate, or beard

  • May be quilted or tied up to 10 inches apart

  • No pre-washing required

  • Machine washable and dryable after quilting

  • Made in the USA

Shrinkage and Care

Expect approximately 3% shrinkage during the first wash in cold water. For a more traditional, antique-style puckered appearance, wash in warm water for approximately 5% shrinkage.

After quilting, machine wash and dry the finished project in cold water.

Optional Pre-Washing Instructions

Pre-washing is not required. If you choose to pre-wash the batting:

  • Hand wash with a mild detergent

  • Do not agitate or use the washer’s spin cycle

  • Soak for 20 minutes, then rinse several times

  • Gently squeeze out excess water without wringing

  • Roll the batting in a towel to absorb additional moisture

  • Tumble dry on a warm setting or lay flat to air dry
